Hog Roast Mitcham recently catered Shane’s event at a local school, where he had asked us to make pigs in buns for around sixty guests but to also provide a vegetarian option. We have all kinds of suitable, tasty dishes for vegetarians, like burgers, quiches, mac and cheese and veggie skewers, and Shane decided that the latter would be the best option for his event. To make our yummy skewers, we freshly prepare and then grill halloumi cheese, mushrooms, courgette, tomatoes, red onion and mixed peppers and then serve with a Tzatziki dip and pitta bread. We can even make them vegan if needed, too.
On the day of Shane’s event, our Hog Roast Mitcham team made their way to the school early in the morning, when it was still dark outside. It takes a few hours to roast a hog slowly but surely, so that we get a crispy, browned outer, full of salty crackling, and a tender and moist inside, with meat that just falls off the bone and on this day, our chef prepared and cooked the meat to do just that.
By late morning, the guests started arriving to the amazing aromas only a roasting hog can produce and before long, we had carved it up to make the pig in buns and grilled the skewers, and it was time for everyone to dig in.
